Breakfast Buddies – Thursday Morning!
One of our favorite Maryland traditions is back! Join us Thursday morning at 7:30 on the blacktop for Breakfast Buddies, where our teachers and staff will be serving pancakes, sausage, fruit, and juice to our Mallard families. Bring a blanket, find a spot on the blacktop, and enjoy breakfast together before the school day begins! In the event of rain, we’ll move the fun indoors to the gym—we hope to see you and your family there!

Forgotten Items
To help us minimize interruptions to the school day and keep traffic at our main entrance to a minimum, we kindly ask families to avoid making trips to school for forgotten items such as water bottles or snacks. We know mornings can be busy and things are occasionally left behind! If your child forgets a water bottle or snack, please know that we have both water and snacks available at school. A quick email to your child’s teacher is all that is needed, and we will make sure they are taken care of. Thank you for helping us keep the school day running smoothly while ensuring our Mallards have what they need!

A Note About Fidgets
We know that fidgets can be helpful tools for some students when used appropriately. To help minimize distractions during the school day, we ask that fidgets remain at home unless they are part of a student’s individual support or have been discussed with the classroom teacher. Thank you for helping us keep classrooms focused while ensuring students who benefit from these tools can continue to use them successfully.

4th-5th Grade Play Crew

Crew Interviews for the Grade 4 & 5 Play, Dr. Experimentor and the League of Evil, are on Wednesday, September 2nd from 3:15-5:30PM in the Schottenstein (HS) Theater.  Please see this FORM for more information.

A Note From Our PTO

The Maryland Elementary PTO is powered by parent volunteers who help make our school events, celebrations, teacher support, and community-building activities possible. Find your flock and jump in HERE by signing up for an event, joining a committee, or even serving as a chair or co-chair—there’s an opportunity for every schedule, and no experience is needed! Every helping hand makes a difference, and we’d love to have you in the flock!

State Law on Cell Phones and Smart Watches

Since 2025, the state law in Ohio is that each public school district must have a policy regarding the use of cell phones and smart watches. Bexley City Schools does not allow students to have these devices during the school day. They must stay in the student’s backpack, locker, or on their teacher’s desk.

Birthday Parties and Special Occasions
In an effort to be mindful of all food allergies and sensitivities, parents should not send food, drinks, balloons, outside deliveries, and/or trinkets to school. Birthdays and occasions will be celebrated in class with song, recognition, and at the discretion of each child’s classroom teacher. Any special requests should be directed to the principal. Our school thanks you in advance for your cooperation.

Pets on School Grounds

Please remember that some of our students are afraid of dogs and to keep everyone safe we ask that all pets stay on the sidewalks around our school grounds during arrival and dismissal.  Details are included in school board policy.
